Generate 28 Megawatts From Exhaustef Heat Save 65 Million Of SM3 Natural Gas Yearly
_______
Overview
Korra Energi, in partnership with Turboden and Siemens Energy, begins development of a “first-of-its-kind” high-efficiency gas compressor station at GASCO in Dahshour, Egypt. The system features a 28 MWe Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) coupled with Electrical Motor Driven (EMD) Compressor Trains operating in island mode, increasing the Dahshour station’s compression capacity by 25% without additional fuel consumption.
_______
Scope
Korra Energi, Egypt’s partner in the groundbreaking GASCO Dahshour GCS project, joins forces with Turboden (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) and Siemens Energy. This first-of-its-kind project boasts the largest high-temperature ORC system from Turboden, coupled with Siemens Energy’s 20 MWe EMD compressors, for major efficiency gains. Harnessing waste heat, it generates 192 GWh of fuel-free electricity annually, powering two 10 MWe EMD compressors and saving GASCO 65 million cubic meters of natural gas. Korra Energi’s local expertise, alongside industry leaders, sets a new standard for sustainable and efficient gas compression in Egypt.
