Sidpec Co Generation Plant

Increasing The Plant Efficiency By 89%

Client

SIDPEC

Location

Alexandria

Application

CO-GENERATION PLANT (CHP)

Contract Type

TurnKey EPC

Status

Under Construction

Overview

This project proposes the development of a cogeneration plant to improve Sisdpec's energy efficiency and profitability. The plant will generate 13 megawatts of electricity using a gas turbine to power the company's production units. Additionally, a boiler will be installed to capture wasted heat and produce 50 tons per hour of steam for various industrial processes. This approach aims to increase the overall plant efficiency to 89% while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 40,000 tons. The project aligns with the national strategy for sustainable development (2030) and the Ministry of Petroleum's directives for enhanced energy utilization

Scope

The project scope encompasses the design, construction, and commissioning of the entire cogeneration plant. This includes:

  • Installation of a 13-megawatt gas turbine.
  • Implementation of a waste heat recovery boiler.
  • Creation of a dedicated steam distribution system.
  • Ongoing operation and maintenance of the cogeneration plant.
